The Redditch branch of a world class Italian engineering manufacturing group specialising in power transmission has moved to a new and larger warehouse in the town where it will assemble and distribute its products.

The Industrial Solutions Division has been in Redditch since 2002, and will assemble and distribute its products from new premises at 7 Colemeadow Road, North Moons Moat, Redditch, following a period of substantial growth.

Established in 13 countries outside Italy, the Bonfiglioli Group has been Italy’s leader in power transmission both in sales and production for over 40 years.

The Bonfiglioli Group also has an assembly base in Warrington, producing a wide range of gearboxes for the self-propelled vehicle and mobile industrial market.

In a deal arranged by business property consultants John Truslove the Group, which employs 13 people in Redditch – but with plans to increase its workforce in due course – has signed a 10-year lease on a 13,562 sq ft unit with landlords Teesland iog.

Mike McCann, managing director of the Redditch-based division said: “We are bucking the recessional trend in engineering and have pushed ahead in Britain with a growing business, so we needed a base two and a half times the size of the old one.

“We have moved just over the road from where we have been for the last 5 years, and are still in the centre of the country.

“This allows us to offer customers more products from stock. We have also an expanded workshop area to allow us to build and repair and customise our gearboxes.

“Specifically we will now be able to build and repair our larger ranges of heavy duty products.

“The larger stock holding will include integrated motors and increases in ranges of gearboxes.

“In this economic situation it’s a pleasure to confirm that we continue to plan and invest for growth; that the business is growing and the investment in larger premises will offer even better customer service.”

Ian Parker of John Truslove said: “Bonfiglioli is an international name in the power transmission sector of the engineering industry.

“It is a company satisfied with being in Redditch which can provide it with a skilled workforce as required – while being an ideal logistical location in the heart of England.”

Bonfiglioli has also invested in a number of other new facilities this year including new manufacturing plants in Germany for inverters and servos, electric motors in Vietnam, and a new factory in Italy for heavy duty gearboxes.
