A keen team of young footballers are playing in a brand-new, bright orange kit, thanks to sponsorship from top Midlands training group BCTG.

Cresswell Tangs Under 9s, which are part of Cresswell Wanderers FC, have both boys and girls playing for them in the Walsall Junior Youth League.

The sponsorship was arranged by Samantha Feeley, who works for Performance Through People (PTP), a subsidiary of the BCTG Group.

Samantha, who is a business development advisor at PTP, is also the mother of Oscar Allen, aged nearly nine, one of the Cresswell Tangs’s two goalkeepers.

She said: “This is a great opportunity for BCTG to get their name even better known in the community in and around Walsall.

“The players are really excited about getting BCTG’s sponsorship money which has provided the team with a new kit and training equipment.

“The team was formed in September 2020 but due to the pandemic this is the first full season that they have played.

“They are coming together brilliantly and are currently on a winning streak having won the last 13 game!”

She added: “The players are so keen and it’s amazing to see how they are so supportive of one another. They really have formed a nice little football family.”

BCTG has ten sites across the Midlands and supports the training of almost 10,000 young people and adults each year.

The group offers 166 different types of apprenticeship, 84 different adult upskilling and reskilling courses and 27 pre-apprenticeship programmes for 16 to 18-year-olds.

Rachel Highway, design and marketing coordinator at BCTG, said: “We’re always keen to put something back into the community and it’s lovely to see such happy kids playing in their bright new kits.

“It’s also important that we connect with younger age groups at an early stage, as they could be our future apprentices.”
