Bond Wolfe Auctions’ October sale raises over £11.6 million
The remarkable rise and continuing success of the UK’s fastest growing auction business was once again witnessed at Bond Wolfe Auction’s October sale at Aston Villa FC
The month preceding the sale saw over 3,700 viewings and over 35,000 legal documents downloaded by interested property hunters, resulting in over 1,500 attendees and a record number of telephone and internet bidders.
The auction enjoyed an 84% success rate, with 108 lots sold from 129 lots offered, raising a total of over £11.6 million.
Bond Wolfe Auctions, which launched in January this year, has so far sold 503 lots out of 592 offered and raised over £66.2 million with an average success rate of 85% – almost as much as the next three auction businesses combined have sold to date this year in Birmingham.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive officer of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “The auction saw not only great results in Birmingham and the Black Country, but also in the East Midlands where we sold 100% of the lots offered as well.”
Notable results were achieved for a three bedroom, semi-detached bungalow at 8 Dovedale Avenue, Shirley, Solihull, which sold for £305,000 from a guide* price of £225,000+.
A three bedroom, semi-detached house at 9 Welford Avenue, Yardley, Birmingham, sold for more than three times its guide price (£50,000+) after keen bidding saw the hammer fall at £152,000.
In Leicester, 23 Totland Road, a two bedroom end terraced house, sold for £133,000 from a guide of £50,000+.
Elsewhere, a South Yorkshire four bedroom, semi-detached property at 176 Rotherham Road, Maltby, which was offered with a guide price of £40,000+, eventually sold for £116,000.
Bond Wolfe Auctions managing director Ian Tudor said: “Among a number of strong commercial lots, we sold two lots for the Canal & River Trust, to include a freehold two storey office building with parking in Long Eaton, Nottingham.”
The Old Waterways Office at Trent Lock, Long Eaton, sold for £217, 500 from a guide price of £150,000+.
Other commercial lots which proved popular included the freehold former church hall premises at 575/577 Barrows Lane, Sheldon, Birmingham, which raised £135,000 from a guide price of £125,000-£135,000, a mid-terraced retail premises at 61 High Street, Brownhills, sold for more than double its guide price of £50,000+ when the hammer fell at £102,500 and the former car sales site at Gun Hill, Arley, Coventry, sold for £110,000 from a guide price of £100,000+.
The focus now switches to Bond Wolfe Auctions’ final sale of the year on Wednesday 11 December at 10.30am at the regular venue of Aston Villa FC.
