Bond Wolfe Auctions sets new record for most lots sold in a Midlands auction
Bond Wolfe Auctions has smashed the record for the most lots ever sold in a Midlands auction.
The December auction held at Aston Villa FC on Wednesday 11 December saw 151 lots sold from the 159 offered – a staggering 95% success rate, the highest sale rate for a Midlands auction for 15 years.
Another packed auction room, with over 2,000 in attendance throughout the day, saw over £15.2 million raised.
First off the block was Lot 1, the former Old Hill police station sold on behalf of West Midlands Police, which sold for £250,000.
The second lot, a vacant freehold mid terraced property at 16 Dunstall Grove, Selly Oak, Birmingham, which was offered with a *guide price of £5,000+, attracted fierce competition and eventually sold for £107,000.
Two three bedroom semi-detached properties in the same road in Great Barr also sold well. 2 Ennerdale Road, which had a guide price of £20,000+, sold for £125,000, while 4 Ennerdale Road, offered with the same guide priced, fared even better, selling for £148,000.
A four bedroom link-detached house at 36 Crab Lane, Willenhall, sold for £180,000, from a guide price of £24,000-£29,000.
The auction also attracted strong interest from East Midlands buyers with 62 Beatrice Road, Leicester, a two bedroom mid-terraced property, selling for £102,000 from a guide price of £34,000-£39,000.
A three bedroom semi-detached property with development potential at 206 Spring Cottage Road, Overseal, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, offered with a guide price of £10,000+, sold for £102,500.
Commercial lots also fared well with a spacious freehold retail unit/showroom at 121 Church Lane, Stechford, realising £290,000 from a guide price of £275,000+.
Similar success was enjoyed by the vacant industrial Unit 45, Willenhall Industrial Estate, which sold for £210,000 from a guide price of £200,000+.

“A packed auction room with over 2,000 through the doors during the day, saw not only our regular Midland lots selling well, but also properties across the north of England and in Wales drawing buyers from far and wide.
“We also had large numbers of buyers online and on the telephone, which all added up to a highly competitive atmosphere.
