Experienced expert joins Principle Estate Management as expanding firm’s third partner

Principle Estate Management has appointed a new partner to head the firm’s business development plans with national developers, house builders and estate agents.

Bob Simonds has a degree in Estate Management, is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a member of the Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM).

He joins with a wealth of experience including time with Lambert Smith Hampton, where he oversaw the Calthorpe Estate Management and Severn Trent residential portfolios, and set up Symphony Court as part of the Brindleyplace mixed use development.

He has worked closely with various regional and national housebuilders at Knight Frank, and has previously handled new homes, the private rented sector and build-to-rent sites for investor clients for another major business.

Importantly, Mr Simonds has previously worked with Principle’s current partners Brett Williams and Joe Jobson at CPBigwood, and so the three partners already have established links and professional relationships.

Mr Simonds said: “I’m really excited to be joining Principle at this key time to help them to continue to grow.

“I know that they are all about managing properties properly which is something I am looking forward to being able to offer to my contacts again.

“Principle is regulated by RICS and the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA), with both Brett and Joe being chartered surveyors and Brett being a past chairman of ARMA.

“That really demonstrates their credentials and desire to provide top quality property management.”

Mr Simonds added: “It was the right time for me to get back to what I know best: helping developers with management strategies for new-build house and apartment schemes so that they can build great places for people to live.”

Brett Williams, managing director at Principle, said: “It’s great to have Bob join our team. I have hoped we would be able to work together again.

“While he is concentrating on business development, with his decades in the sector he has more to offer to the business as a whole.”

Joe Jobson, a director at Principle, said: “Since we formed Principle, I have led on the new homes instructions.

“It has gone really well with us working with a number of regional house builders, not just in the Midlands, but also further afield, and we are thrilled to count some major plc developers amongst our clients.

“I am now looking forward to working with Bob again so we can double up on our capability and help more house builders by providing modern and efficient property management, which is such an important part of the new homes market.”

Principle, which launched in 2018, now has more than 35 staff looking after a portfolio of more than 7,000 units in 250-plus developments across the UK.
