Lockley Homes, the independent, family-run Midlands developer, has reported strong interest in its latest developments despite, or perhaps because of, the Covid-19 lockdown.

Joint managing director Karl Lockley explained: “Since lockdown began on Monday 23 March, we have seen more and more visitors to our website, which has prompted further inquiries on a daily basis.

“We have continued to take reservations on both our current live projects in Colwall, near Malvern, and in Honeybourne, near Broadway.”

Kingsbrooke, Lockley Homes’ second development of family homes, bungalows and apartments of superior quality in the picturesque village of Colwall, is now 60% sold, with all houses and bungalows sold.

There are now only four of the six “sky bungalows” in Connolly House available and Mr Lockley said they were experiencing a lot of curiosity about their unique concept of large apartment living on one floor.

Prices for the two bedroom apartments range from £475,000-£525,000.

The story is similar at Lockley Homes’ Marmalade Lane development in Honeybourne – eight properties in total with a mixture of two 2 bedroom houses, three 3 bedroom houses, two 4 bedroom houses and one 2 bedroom bungalow.

Already 50% of the properties are reserved, with prices on those remaining ranging from £495,000 – £595,000.

Karl Lockley said: “Both developments are now open for viewing in line with Covid-19 guidance and we will be pleased to be able to show interested buyers what is available again at last.

“We are not sure what has prompted the surge in interest but it may be something to do with people having longer to spend searching for the ideal property on the internet.

“Our variety of properties tick so many boxes that I suppose it is inevitable we will attract a wide range of interested parties.

“From young couples starting out to downsizers looking for luxurious, manageable space, and those simply seeking a lovely family home, we have something for most buyers.”

With construction now restarted under government guidelines, Lockley Homes are hopeful of completing Kingsbrooke and Marmalade Lane not too far behind schedule and then embarking on an ambitious programme of further developments in attractive rural and suburban locations.
