Lockley Homes reveals major cash investment in Honeybourne

Lockley Homes has revealed its commitment to the village of Honeybourne and unveiled plans to recruit local schoolchildren to learn how to be an estate agent for a day.

The homebuilder is currently constructing eight properties in Marmalade Lane and has committed to investing in the community as part of the project

Karl Lockley, joint managing director, said: “As part of the Section 106 planning conditions, we will be giving Wychavon District Council £117,698.38.

“This is made up of £85,279.21 as an offsite affordable housing contribution, £23,944 for offsite sports facilities and an offsite public open space contribution of £8,745.17.

“We are also making a payment of £53,690.37 in Community Infrastructure Levy.

“This means that Wychavon District Council will have a total of £171,388.75 to invest back into the community of Honeybourne.”

Lockley Homes is constructing eight properties in total in Marmalade Lane and these will include two 2 bedroom houses, three 3 bedroom houses, two 4 bedroom houses and one 2 bedroom bungalow. Prices range from £300,000 to £625,000.

To promote the development Lockley Homes is to hold a special open day launch event early in the New Year, in conjunction with estate agents Nicol & Co, where they will be giving away 300 locally made jars of marmalade made to Lockley Homes’ very own recipe.

And as construction continues, the company plans to hold a special day with Honeybourne Primary Academy, the local primary school, where staff from selling agents Nicol & Co will teach them what is involved in a property viewing.

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, said: “As a bit of fun, we will then invite their parents to view the show home, with their own child conducting the viewing!

“As our little helpers will be finding out, what buyers can expect is luxurious country living in a sought-after location.”

As developers keen to meet modern standards of sustainability, Lockley Homes are once again using timber frame construction which is more environmentally friendly than conventional building methods.

The properties at Marmalade Lane will be predominantly faced with Cotswold Stone. It will be Lockley Homes first development marketed together with selling agents Nicol & Co.
