Maximus’ residential arm sells 25 home site in Herefordshire
North Oak Homes Ltd, the residential arm of Worcestershire-based property development and investment group Maximus, has sold a four acre site at St Weonards, west of Ross-on-Wye, which has planning permission for 25 homes.
The site, which was sold for an undisclosed sum, has been acquired by M F Freeman, the Gloucestershire family-owned and privately-run developers.
Jon Hickton, managing director of Maximus, said: “We are pleased that our focus on strategic land, sourcing land opportunities and working with landowners to facilitate the entire planning and sales process has borne fruit once again.
“This is a prime example of the opportunities that exist and that we can help to bring forward.”
The planning permission on the site on land to the west of A466, provides for 25 homes, of which nine will be affordable housing and a mixture of two and three bedroom accommodation.
The remaining 16 properties will be a mixture of two, three and four bedroom homes available on the open market.
The plans also incorporate a new footpath along the A466, linking to the existing path further up the hill by the primary school, allowing access to the village facilities.
The planning application stated: “The location of the site ensures that it is within walking distance of the shops, schools, bus stops and other community facilities. This all assists in reducing vehicle movements and will encourage the use of more sustainable modes of transport, while the increase in residents will increase the sustainability of the streets.”
