Nicol & Co marketing £2 million worth of luxury new apartments in spectacular Malvern Hills

A new development of luxury apartments in the beautiful Malvern Hills is being marketed for sale with leading Worcestershire estate agent Nicol & Co.

The eight apartments with sale prices totalling more than £2 million are being created at a Victorian former care home at Adelaide House, off Park Road, on the west side of the Malvern Hills near to the village of Colwall.

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, said: “This property is full of character but has stood empty for nearly a decade after serving as a care home for many years.

“This restoration is long overdue and has been welcomed by the local community, keen to see this derelict property brought back into use.

“The new owners of these apartments will find them to be completed to a high standard. Add to this the idyllic surroundings in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the bustling spa town of Greater Malvern just the other side of the hills, and you have a wonderful place to live.

“Families will also find the added attraction of excellent local schools such as Malvern Parish CofE Primary.”

Mr Nicol explained that his company handled the original sale of the project to Court Property Developers earlier this year, and that the new apartments were expected to be completed by the early summer of 2024.

The Adelaide House redevelopment will see the creation of eight apartments of one or two bedrooms. Nicol & Co is seeing considerable interest in these properties and one is already reserved.

The new apartments have a total retail value of more than £2 million and range in size from a compact one bedroom apartment of 418 sq ft, priced at £180,000, to a two-bedroomed apartment of 780 sq ft, priced at £325,000.

The property will have electrified entrance gates leading to off-road private parking and an established communal garden and outdoor space. Each home will be fitted with a video door intercom and entry system that can be accessed away from home.

Specification for the apartments includes integrated kitchen appliances including electric ovens, dishwashers and washer-dryers and fully-fitted kitchen cupboards.

There will be a high level of decoration throughout, including built-in wardrobes, ceramic tiling on the floors of the kitchens and the elegant bathrooms, which will also have white sanitary ware and chrome fittings.

Along with energy efficient heating and insulation, the homes will each have fibre optic cabling providing ultra-fast broadband, digital TV aerial points and LED lighting in kitchens and bathrooms.

Mr Nicol added: “This unique development will blend historical charm with modern luxury, with the latest home technology in a building around 200-years-old.

“These apartments are perfect for those seeking a downsize or a secure ‘lock up and leave’ home.

“The attractions of this development, on the slopes of Sugarloaf Hill in the Malvern Hills, make it highly likely these apartments will be snapped up well in advance of their proposed completion in May or June 2024. Those interested should contact us early in the New Year.”
